OC Dental Academy
Dental Billing
In the early days of dentistry, payment for dental treatment was arranged between the dentist and the patient. As dentistry progressed into a complex healthcare delivery system with a wide range of treatment options, the need for financial assistance was recognized. Dental Insurance is offered as a method of supplementing payment for dental treatment. Whether only a few or many insurance claims are processed, the fundamental duties are the same. A well trained administrative dental assistant competent to understand the different types of dental insurance coverage, insurance terminology, and how to correctly code dental procedures, has become a valuable asset to todays’ dental practice.
